MacGruber and his Mullet Headed to the Big Screen

Looks like the bust that was Land of the Lost has left Jorma Taccone with some time on his hands.

Cinema Blend cites a Twitter feed from Production Weekly that says a feature-length version of MacGruber is about to begin production in New Mexico. The SNL skits feature Will Forte as a secret agent who unsuccessfully attempts to escape stereotypically dangerous situations using "household materials." Taccone, who created the MacGyver-if-he-was-a-moron-like character, will direct from his own script. I don't know that for a fact, but it's a pretty damn good guess, seeing as how he created the character and all.

Being a lifelong MacGyver fan, I've always gotten a kick out of the MacGruber sketches. But two hours of it? I don't know, man. I'm all for a shitload of explosions and boom boom, but that's a long time to keep that schtick going. Personally, I'd much rather see a Lonely Island movie.
